I grew up in the country, so we just had to “suck it up.” So I thought the pain was not too bad. After all, I also thought it was normal to have a headache every day, numb hands in the morning, not be able to lie down without pain all down my spine, and for one leg to be shorter than the other. My entire back hurt all the time. I lived like this for 5 years.
I didn’t do anything except take some kind of pain reliever daily. I had to take more and more pills each day to relieve any pain.
My family was very anti-chiropractic. When I moved away to go to college, it was my boyfriend whom recommended that I go and see a chiropractor. My boyfriend urged me to go to Dr. Joyce, and good thing he did. I took a set of x-rays and saw that my neck had a reverse curve, which explained the daily headaches. When Dr. Joyce was examining my x-rays he explained to me that the severity of damage to my neck made it look like I had been dropped on my head. I then explained to him that I had been during the time that I had been a cheerleader. I was a flyer for the varsity cheerleading squad at my high school. I was only in high school and I was taking pain relievers before every game. They became my best friend!
I could feel a difference immediately with my chiropractic care. The day after my first adjustment I began to feel my hands again and for the first time in a long time I went and entire day without a headache. At first I thought getting adjusted was weird, but over time the pain in my back went away completely and I am headache free.
If you are thinking about trying chiropractic, I hope that my experience will motivate you to do so. I was very surprised at what a difference chiropractic care made in my life. I feel like a “normal” human being again thanks to Dr. Joyce. I really had no idea the amount of pain I was in until after I started feeling great after my adjustments.
Now that I have undergone chiropractic care I can do so much more. I now snowboard and there is no way that I would be able to do that before I started to get adjusted. I enjoy camping, well in places with bathrooms, and riding 4-wheelers with my boyfriend. I also attend school and before it was hard to sit in class with my neck pain. Thanks to Dr. Joyce I have no problems sitting through my classes.
